Field Maps

The VIMOS Ultra Deep Survey (VUDS) is a Legacy survey of ~10,000 galaxies observed with VLT/VIMOS to make a complete census of the star-forming galaxy population at 2 ≤ z ≤ 6.7.

Galaxies are selected in a total area of 1 deg2 spread in the COSMOS, ECDFS and VVDS-02h fields to minimise cosmic variance. The VUDS pointings (in thick black solid lines) and the most important layouts of public imaging data on each field are displayed below. The letters in between parentheses refer to the photometric bands observed. Note that for HST imaging R -> F606W, I -> F814W, J -> F125W and H -> F160W.
