The VIMOS Ultra Deep Survey Data Release 1 (DR1) is a public release of all spectroscopic data in the region of overlap between the CANDELS HST imaging survey and VUDS. The data release for 698 objects is distributed over the COSMOS-CANDELS field at around RA(2000)=10h00m28.2s, DEC(2000)=02deg21'36", and the ECDFS around RA(2000)=03h32m30s, DEC(2000)=-27deg48'00".
Using the VUDS-DR1 we kindly request that you make reference to the DR1 presentation (Tasca et al. 2016, arXiv:1602.01842), to the VUDS survey reference paper (Le Fèvre et al., 2015, A&A, 576, 79), and acknowledge the use of these data:
"Based on data obtained with the European Southern Observatory Very Large Telescope, Paranal, Chile, under Large Program 185.A-0791, and made available by the VUDS team at the CESAM data center, Laboratoire d'Astrophysique de Marseille, France."
"The HST data matched to the VUDS-DR1 are described in Grogin et al. (2011) and Koekemoer et al. (2011) for CANDELS and include data from the ERS (Windhorst et al. 2011)."
You may browse through the data using the objects maps below (one each for COSMOS and ECDFS) going over objects in the map to get the redshift information, and a click on an object will display the object spectrum and color image stamps.
To retrieve catalogs and 1D calibrated spectra use the search engines under "Data products".
Objects released in the VUDS-DR1 are shown as squares on the image (left). The area covered by the CANDELS - WFC3 imaging is shown with the red outline. The VIMOS pointings / quadrants used are identified by the yellow boxes.
