FUV
Image from the GALEX Pipeline
Intensity map (J2000). GALEX FOV image in counts per second per pixel, corrected for relative response.
Residual image
Galex image minus the EMPhot simulated objects and the background, with masked regions in green.
Catalog comparison - EMPhot versus GALEX Pipeline
The following plots are made with all sources (stars and galaxies). The source matching between EMPhot and GALEX positions is done by finding sources within a 2" radius. The magnitudes are not corrected from the galactic extinction.
NUV
FUV
Histogram of magnitudes
Count per square degree and per mag with the sources estimated by EMPhot and the GALEX pipeline (including stars). In the NUV band the magnitude is corrected from the bias due to the background.
Scatter plot of the difference
Isolated sources (distance to the nearest neighbor greater than 10") are the cyan dots. the mean and standard deviation is given for the isolated compact (blue points) and extended (red points) sources.

FUV
Histogram of the estimated magnitude
With a color-coded error between the simulated and estimated magnitudes: blue for an absolute error smaller than 0.3 mag., green and yellow for an error greater than 0.3 mag.
The bottom plot show the percentage of detected objects for three SNR thresholds.
